From the late 1800's to the early 1900's, this building was known as the Frankford School, and later the Frankford High School, until 1932. The property was then bought by Clinton and Irene Watson and was converted into a funeral home called Watson Funeral Home. A few years later, Vollie and Blanche Gray became partners with Clinton and Irene, and the business was known as Watson and Gray Funeral Home. In 1965, Douglas and Sharon Melson purchased the business and renamed it Melson Funeral Services. The Frankford Funeral Home accommodates the residents of Frankford, Dagsboro, Selbyville, Roxana, Clarksville, and Gumboro.
