William "Bill" C. Roberts, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2024, at Delaware Hospice. He was 87 years old. Longtime resident of Wilmington, currently of Bethany Beach, DE, Bill was born in Chester, PA on September 21, 1936. He graduated from Chester High School and received B.S. from Millersville University and MA from Villanova University.

He was proud to have served in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Roberts touched the lives of many in his 41-year career in education. He spent 14 years in the Chichester School District where he taught Woodshop, was a guidance counselor, assistant principal and was also a football coach. He then went to the Colonial School District in DE where he spent 27 years in administration. From 1990-1999 he was the Principal of William Penn High School.

He retired in 1999 and enjoyed doing all the things that retirees do. Bill is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sandra. He is also survived by his daughter, Connie Campbell and husband, William of Garnet Valley, PA; son, Steven Roberts and wife, Cheryl of Newark, DE; step-daughter, Kasey Riddle; brother Meredith Roberts of Glen Mills, PA; sister, Leslie Yeoman and husband Skip of Glenolden, PA. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Amanda Tidwell (James), Andrew William Campbell and Haydan John Roberts and his twin great grandsons, Caleb William and Cameron Tidwell. He was so proud of them all.

A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024 at St. Martha's Episcopal Church, 117 Maplewood Street, Bethany Beach, DE, 19930 where friends and family may gather after 10:30 a.m. Interment will be private.
