William Burton Mitchell, 78, of Milton, Delaware, passed away on August 17, 2025.

Born on October 24, 1946, in Lewes, Delaware, Bill lived a life defined by service, loyalty, and love. He was a proud Army Veteran who honorably served as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War.

Bill was preceded in death by his loving parents, Walter "Pete" Mitchell, and Helen E. Fraser, as well as his stepfather Milton Fraser.

Bill loved his family fiercely, especially his beloved wife, Barbara Mitchell. He is also survived by his sisters, Louellen Lake (Bob) and Patricia Guy; his niece, Staci Jelley (Greg); his nephew, Kris Lake (Kristin); and many extended family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, great-nieces, and a great-nephew.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
