William "Bill" Dawson Jarboe, Jr., 87, of Ocean View, DE died peacefully at home on May 15, 2025.

Born in Washington, D.C. in 1937 to Helen Mattingly Jarboe and William Dawson Jarboe. Bill was a beloved brother, uncle, teacher and friend. He lived a life devoted to education, compassion, and curiosity. A graduate of the University of Maryland, he spent his career as a dedicated teacher in middle school, high school and college. He touched the lives of countless students with his kindness, patience and belief in the power of learning. His classrooms were places; not only of academic growth, but of encouragement, empathy and inspiration. He continued to be involved in the lives of his students for decades.

He moved from Columbia, MD to Ocean View, DE in 1995 and continued to enjoy his deep love of travel which spanned more than 50 years. He had a particular fondness for England and the landscapes and cultures of Europe. Above all, Bill was known for his great appreciation of music, his humor, his generosity and tireless efforts to help those in need and his love of family.

He is survived by his loving sister and brother Lally Jarboe Thomas (Joseph) and Thomas B. Jarboe (Laurie) his nieces and nephews Susan Sedillo, Michael Thomas, Annie Foster, James Jarboe and his partner John Telenson.

Services for Bill will be held at St. Martha's Episcopal Church in Bethany Beach, DE on June 18 at 11 a.m. with a visitation at 10 a.m.
