Wayne Clinton Breasure, age 84, of Ocean View, DE went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 23, 2025 at Christiana Care Hospital in Newark, DE.

Wayne was born in Dagsboro, DE on March 21, 1941 son of the late Clinton Henry Breasure and the late Helen Elizabeth (Donaway) Breasure.  He was a graduate of John M. Clayton High School Class of 1959 and also received his Associate Degree from Del Tech in business administration. Following high school, Wayne proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1959-1963.

Wayne retired from Barcroft/William H. Rorer Pharmaceuticals as a logistics manager in 1998 after 29 years of service.  Retirement didn't last long for Wayne as he worked for H&R Block and also Bennett Orchards for a number of years.  Wayne served his community in several capacities as one of the founding members of the Lower Sussex Little League at the Pyle Center, baseball coach and umpire for Lower Sussex Little League, Past Lions Club President, was the mayor of Ocean View for 10 years and sat on the Board of Directors of Delaware National Bank.

He was a member of Ocean View Church of Christ where he had served in the capacity of treasurer.  Wayne was always at the church trying to lend a hand wherever needed and was very faithful to the church's food pantry, Vacation Bible School and the Sunday School program.

Wayne was an avid baseball fan and loved the New York Yankees.  Over the years he faithfully traveled the country to watch his grandsons play every sport possible.  He enjoyed staying active from walking the neighborhood, working in his yard, snow skiing, reading or watching Fox News. Wayne will be remembered for his love of kids, his infectious laugh and his constant singing throughout the day.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Clinton James "Jamie" Schilling and two sisters, Patsy Helms and Janet Davidson.  Wayne is survived by his loving wife of almost 63 years, Elaine (Hitchens) Breasure; two children, Sherry Schilling of Deptford, NJ and Steve Breasure and his wife, Tracy of New Bern, NC; four grandsons, Matthew Blackburn and his fiancé, Whitney Perry of Chesapeake, VA, Jacob Schilling of Kissimmee, FL, Andrew Breasure of Charlotte, NC and Evan Breasure of Charlotte NC and three great grandchildren, Luke Blackburn, Brooks Blackburn and Clara Blackburn. Wayne is also survived by three brothers, Jay Breasure of Delmar, DE, Jerry Breasure of Selbyville, DE and Jeff Breasure and his wife, Donna of Milton, DE, two step brothers Frank Esham and Harold (Babe) Esham as well as several nieces and nephews all who will miss him dearly.

A visitation will be held from 12 noon until 2 PM on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970, where a funeral service will begin at 2 PM.  Interment will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Wayne's name to the Ocean View Church of Christ Food Pantry, 55 West Ave., Ocean View, DE 19970.
