Ward E. Gray, 72, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of Claymont, DE, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE.

Born in Chester, PA, on April 21, 1953, Ward was the son of the late Paxon E. Gray, Jr. and Anna Mary (Tranor) Gray. He dedicated much of his career to the retail industry, working at Ace Hardware, Lowe's and most recently at Kmart before retiring due to disability.

Ward is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy C. (Fischere) Gray; two sons, Matthew Gray and his companion, Jennifer Rooke, of Lewes, DE, and John Gray of Millsboro, DE and six grandchildren: Tori, Hannah, Kaylan, Braydon, Mason, and Ava.

A viewing will be held from 10 AM to 12 noon on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966, where a funeral service will begin at 12 noon.  Interment will be held privately.
