Artist, Wanda Powell's, love of life did not come to an end with her death. Wanda passed away on September 17, 2023 at the age of 95, surrounded by loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest. After graduating from college, Wanda pursued multiple career interests in her field. She continued to engage in her love of art, and painted many local historical sites. Wanda's passion was her storytelling and bringing to life her tales of growing up in the local beach area communities. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Wanda. She loved a relaxing afternoon of playing games with good friends. Her days were made complete by visits with many family and friends.

Wanda is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, William R. Powell Sr., as well as her son, William R. Powell Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Carol P. Hurley, and son in law, D. Brent Hurley; granddaughter, Kristen L. Low, her husband, William J. Low;  and great grandson William Fisher Low. Wanda was blessed to have her sister Judy Bennett (Edgar), brother I. Robert Willey (Carolyn), brother Gary E. Willey (Linda) as well as her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held at Melson's Funeral Services (38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, DE 19970) on Saturday, September 23, 2023; visitation from 9:30 am until 11:00 am with service to follow at 11:00 am.
