Wallace C. Evans, age 89 passed away in Ormond Beach, FL on October 19, 2024.

Wallace was born in Millville, DE to Clifton and Mabel Evans in 1934. He graduated from Lord Baltimore High School in Ocean View DE, active in sports and music. He continued his education at the University of Delaware earning a Masters Degree in Agricultural Economics. He was a statistician for the US Department of Agriculture until his retirement in 2000. His role with this department enabled him to live in a number of different states. Post-retirement found him splitting time between residences in Chincoteague, VA and Ormond Beach, FL. He and Grace traveled and cruised to numerous foreign destinations. His progressive Parkinson's symptoms eventually curtailed the ability to travel.

Wallace was married to his high school sweetheart, Grace for 69 years. They have 2 daughters, LuAnn (Dave) and Vanessa (Ray). They have 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Wallace was a member of the Church of Christ, serving as elder with the congregation at Camp Hill, PA for 25 years. He was a humble man who loved God and family.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 27 at 1 p.m. at Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE with visitation at noon. Interment will follow at Mariner's Bethel Methodist Church cemetery, 81 Central Ave. Ocean View, DE.
