Virginia “Ginny” Wadsworth, 73, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026. Born on March 31, 1953, in Havertown, Pennsylvania, Ginny was the only child of Albert and Doris Lawrence.

Ginny spent her early years in Pennsylvania before moving to Millsboro in 1987 after many years of camping in Ocean View, a place she truly loved. She carried her warm spirit and love for family wherever she went.

She was first married to Ron, with whom she shared her beloved daughter, Kristy-An. Later in life, she married her husband Tim on March 3, 1994. Together they enjoyed camping, traveling, cruising, and spending time at the Cape May–Lewes Ferry terminal watching the boats come and go.

Ginny dedicated many years to caring for others through her work. She began her career at Beebe Healthcare in the radiology department before later working at Intervet until her retirement. Service to her community was always important to her. While living in Pennsylvania, she was active with the East Lansdowne Fire and Ambulance Company, and after moving to Delaware, she became involved with Mid-Sussex Rescue Squad.

Ginny had a creative soul and a joyful personality. She loved crafting, adored the color purple, and had a special fondness for pigs — at one point even caring for three pot-belly pigs of her own. She loved vacations and cruises and could often be found listening to her favorite music. Doo-Wop was close to her heart, especially songs by Dion, The Beach Boys, and Patsy Cline. One of her greatest joys was sharing that music with her grandson, RJ, teaching him every word to “The Wanderer,” a song he still sings today in her memory. To RJ, she was lovingly known as “Oma,” a name that meant comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.

She adored her family pets, especially Pumpkin and Benny, two of RJ’s childhood dogs who were always by the family’s side and deeply loved by the family. Some of the simplest moments became the most treasured — Ginny sitting at the dining room table watching her “stories,” or days spent shopping together before ending the night laughing over Taco Bell. Those memories became traditions RJ will carry with him forever.

Ginny was always happiest when helping the people she loved. She was especially proud to support her daughter with the National Kidney Foundation, doing whatever she could to help her family and cheer them on.

Above all, Ginny loved her family deeply. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Tim; her daughter, Kristy-An, and son-in-law Michael; her cherished grandson, RJ; along with many friends who will miss her dearly.

Ginny will be remembered for her kindness, humor, creativity, love of music, and the joy she brought to those around her. Her memory will live on in every song sung, every craft made with love, and in the countless small moments shared with the family she adored.
