Vanthong Bouaphakeo, 81, of Bishopville, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 12, 2026, at TidalHealth in Salisbury, Maryland.

Vanthong was born in 1944 in Ban Nakok, Xaignabouli, Laos, to the late Khambai and Thong Sayarath.

A devoted and hardworking woman, Vanthong dedicated many years to providing for her family through her work in the poultry industry. She worked for several companies, including Perdue and Hudson Foods, before retiring from Mountaire in 2006.

Vanthong found great joy in gardening and was a talented cook. She was especially known for her beloved egg rolls, which brought together family and friends and became a cherished part of her family's memories.

Vanthong was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Onta Bouaphakeo.

She is survived by her two sons, Sengthong Bouaphakeo and his wife, Sengdeuane Soutathamma, and Kongmy Bouaphakeo; her brother, Khamphian Khamvongdeuan; six grandchildren, Bonnie, Kevin, Brandon, Eric, Kalin, and Noah; and one great-granddaughter, Malina.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Melson Funeral Services – Frankford Chapel, 43 Thatcher Street, Frankford, Delaware. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. Cremation will follow the service.

Vanthong will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
