Thomas "Tim" J. Meehan, Sr., age 70, of Bishopville, MD passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD.

Tim, son of the late John and Lucille Meehan, was born in Aston, PA on December 9, 1953.  He worked hard to provide for his family by working in construction and maintenance, before working in the environmental services department at Ocean Downs Casino.

Tim loved spending time with his family and was a true father figure to all of his grandchildren.  He loved riding his motorcycles, going fishing and camping in Assateague.  He was proud to teach his grandchildren and great grandchildren how to fish and when he was home, he enjoyed playing handheld poker games and watching wrestling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Meehan, Jr.  Tim is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Elizabeth "Liz" A. (Bertrand) Meehan; three children, Thomas J. Meehan, Jr., Melisa Meehan and Michelle Meehan; seven grandchildren, Krystle Meehan (William Luffman), Mindy Meehan (Gabe Paschall), Joey Hernandez, Alicia Meehan, Abigail Hernandez, Isabel Hernandez and Samuel Meehan and five great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, March 18, 2024 at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, DE 19945, where friends and family may gather after 12 noon.  Entombment will follow at Granite Memorial Mausoleum in Bishopville, MD.
