Dr. Thomas Edward Hughes, age 75, of Millsboro, DE formerly of Texas passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at his home.

Thomas was born in Harrisburg, PA son of the late Dr. Elwyn "Doc" Arthur Hughes and the late Eleanor Nennette (Beck) Hughes.  He received his undergraduate degree from West Chester University in 1971, his MA in Music from Ohio State University in 1973 and his Ph.D. in Music from the University of Arizona in 1991.

Dr. Hughes held a position at the State Conservatorium of Music in Sydney, Australia, where he headed the music technology program and trained music educators in computer literacy and teaching methods, supervising student teaching and developing computer software in music education.  In 1996, he moved to Texas and was appointed Professor of Organ at Texas Tech School of Music until his retirement.

He is survived by his sister, Beth Ann Holey and her husband, Ronald; three cousins, Cathy (Beck) Rico, Carol (Beck) Harvey and her husband, Gerald and Alan Beck; a niece and two nephews.

Service and burial are private.
