Theodore Robert Abt, Jr. of Long Neck in Millsboro, Delaware, passed away on November 28, 2024 after a long battle with cancer.  He was born in South West Philadelphia to the late Theodore Robert Abt, Sr.  and Eleanor (Mehrman) Abt.  Ted was a Mummer in the Woodland String Band.

He previously lived in Secane, Pennsylvania and worked many years as a vascular lab technician at Presbyterian Hospital and Taylor Hospital where he retired.  After retirement, Ted worked several years as a court officer at the Delaware County Court House is Media, Pennsylvania.  He and his beloved wife moved to Delaware beach area to enjoy coastal living.

Ted is a veteran of the US Army and a proud member of the American Legion Post 28.

He also enjoyed being a volunteer at the Beebe Outpatient Center for the last several years.

Ted was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Bendig, Jr.

Ted is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Linda; a brother, Gerald, daughters, Danica Rose Bendig and Jennifer Boswell (John); sons, Christopher and Paul Bendig; their grandchildren, Isabella, Jadeon and Jacob as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ted will be deeply missed by his loved ones and all whom had the pleasure of knowing him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church 30839 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro, Delaware where friends and family may gather after 10 AM.

Interment will be at The Delaware Veterans Cemetery Millsboro, DE.
