Steven "Steve" Joseph Loeffler, affectionately known as Pop Pop, passed away on Saturday, July 19th, at his home in Delaware at the age of 78.

Steve was the kind of man who would help anyone out if it was within his means - and often when it wasn't. He was endlessly generous with his time, talents, and heart, and never asked for anything in return. Whether it was helping family out with projects big or small, hosting his grandkids and their friends at his house in Delaware, or offering sage advice from afar, Steve gave freely and without complaint. He never sought recognition or praise - he simply did what needed to be done, quietly and reliably. His steady presence was a gift to everyone lucky enough to have known him.

Steve was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend and neighbor. Born in Portland, Maine on September 23, 1946, he served our country in the US Army during the Vietnam era while stationed in Germany. In retirement, he and his late wife, Viola, built a home on the water in Delaware where they were both finally able to slow down a bit. They enjoyed going out on his boat, spending time with many friends and neighbors, and visits from their kids and grandkids.

Steve is survived by his children, Debbie, Joseph, Lorenzo, Steven, and Matteo, his grandchildren, Loren, Kaitlyn, Matteo, Ted, Steven, Lilli, Allie, Nick, Mia, Anna, Charlie, Remy, Miles, and Michelle, and many friends who will carry his memory forward.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 20th, at the Swann Keys clubhouse located at 37689 Swann Drive, Selbyville, DE 19975 from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the local Meals on Wheels chapter at the following address in Steve's honor.
