Stanley Matthew Oczkowski passed away at his residence in Millsboro, DE surrounded by the love and support of his family. Stanley emigrated to the United States from Poland in 1973 and was joined later by his loving wife and lifelong partner, Mira Oczkowski. They wed in 1976 and spent 47 years in New Jersey before retiring to Delaware.

Stanley's career in asset management brought him employment opportunities across a variety of industries and companies that allowed him to travel domestically and abroad, as far as Australia. Though he enjoyed work he was best known for his creativity and craftsmanship when it came to home management. He took special care when designing and building home projects at his previous Bloomingdale, NJ residence. Many will remember the backyard deck he constructed that hosted numerous family parties over the years.

When Stanley wasn't tinkering or building, he passionately served in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 10-13, District 1SR. In the USCG Auxiliary, Stanely found great purpose and satisfaction in public service through volunteering. He also spent free time taking long walks with this beloved canine companion, Duchess, who really is "the best" dog— he prided himself on the dedicated time they spent training her to walk off leash and befriend neighbors, which eased the transition from New Jersey to Delaware.

Stanely and Mira had found their forever home in Delaware and looked forward to spending their golden years exploring all that it has to offer. Their best memories in Delaware include sampling the fruit at local fruit stands, feeding the goats by the diner, searching for new playgrounds for their grandchildren, and of course long, lazy days at the beach.

Stanley had a relentless will to live and his intense and fiery spirit will live on in his wife, children, and grandchildren that will share in his memories when they gather.

A viewing for Stanley will be held at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, DE 19966 on Thursday, May 9th from 3-5 PM and also on Friday, May 10th from 9-10 AM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 10th at 10:30 AM at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mt. Joy Road, Millsboro, DE 19966.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 32112 Vines Creek Road, Dagsboro, DE 19939

A repass will be held at the Stonewater Creek Community Clubhouse, 24825 Shoreline Drive Millsboro, DE 19966, from 12-4 PM.
