Obituary

SALVATORE FRANK CULOTTA

September 17, 1944 - February 11, 2024

We are very sad to announce the passing of Salvatore Culotta, who died on February 11, 2024, at the age of 79, surrounded by his family.

Sal was taken from us unexpectedly and quickly, leaving a huge void in our lives.

He is survived by his Partner, Anna Berger; Daughter, Elizabeth Culotta Hartman, Spouse Michael, and Grand-Daughter Isabella; Brother Martin Culotta and Wife Terri Culotta; and many nieces and nephews who adored him.

Sal/Butch/Uncle Butch/Pop-pop/Dad was an extraordinary man to family, friends and community, giving 100% of himself to everyone he met, even strangers.

Sal shared adventures such as camping, kayaking, playing games, attending concerts and travelling, especially with family.  He was an excellent photographer, painter and handyman. Sal also enjoyed the many friends he met at the dog park with his dingo Danny every day.

Sal not only served his family; he served his country in the US Army and community. After graduating from college, he joined the military during the Vietnam War and then later retired as a Federal Agent with the IRS.

Sal was also very active with the church both in his hometown of Catonsville and more recently at Bethany Beach. He recently took on the position of Treasurer of the St. Ann's Men's Club.

Additionally, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity each year repairing homes as a service project for the Methodist Church, served Meals on Wheels, was a Red Cross Volunteer and helped at the St. Vincent de Paul Society Food Pantry at St. Ann's RC Church in Bethany Beach DE.

He will be missed by all, but his legacy will continue through his generosity and his unconditional love of helping others.

Sal's Farewell Service will be on Saturday March 23, 2024
