Ruby Mae (Bryant) Evans, age 85, of Roxana, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 9, 2025, in the comfort of her own home with her caring family at her side. Born on July 29, 1939, in Berlin, MD, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Lelia (Davis) Bryant.

Ruby was a graduate of Stephen Decatur High School, Class of 1957, in Berlin, MD. She had a long and successful career spanning 42 years in the insurance industry, opening and running her own independent insurance agency, Evans Insurance, from 1988 until her retirement in 2012. Ruby often expressed her love for working in insurance.

She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, watching hummingbirds, going to the beach, spending time around her pool, and camping at Assateague. Ruby loved riding her bike, taking walks, and looked forward to weekend getaways to Lancaster, PA, or vacations to Myrtle Beach, SC, and Fort Myers, FL.

Ruby was a devoted member of The Roxana Wesleyan Church, where she served as secretary, Sunday School Teacher, and choir member. She loved the Lord and enjoyed reading devotionals and Christian books. Ruby also served as Past President of the Bethany-Fenwick Chamber of Commerce and was a licensed real estate broker and member of the Sussex County Board of Realtors for many years.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her brother, David Allen Bryant. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Clinton Evans, and her son, Rick. Ruby is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nancy Bryant, and her nephew, Jason Bryant. Her family will cherish her memory as a devoted mother and wife.

The family extends their deepest appreciation to her special caregivers, Kristin Husbands, Angela Ward, and Kerri Boone. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, DE 19945, where a funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Roxana Cemetery.
