Ronald Nelson Allen passed away on April 30, 2024 after a 30-year battle with progressive MS. He was 58 years old. He is survived by his parents, James and Rita Allen of Millsboro, DE, his sister Robin and her husband Mike Roop of Westminster, MD and his niece Rebecca Thomas of Dunkirk, MD. In addition, he is also survived by his aunts and uncles Barbara and Dan Stevens, Bob and Karin Allen, Sandra and David Judson and Linda Cook. He is also survived by his cousins, Matt and Heather Stevens, Phil and Molly Stevens, Dana Mainzer, Jennie and Bob Farris, Susan and Dan Legge, Cindy and Shaun Murphy, Rob and Nicole Clark, and Stephanie and Ryan McMurray.  He leaves behind a host of 2nd and 3rd cousins that were a very big part of his life.

Ron grew up in Damascus, Maryland and graduated from Damascus High School. Like his father, Ron loved soccer and played on his high school team. In addition, he was on the Montgomery Soccer League and earned the name "Boomer" because he could kick the ball from one end of the field to the other. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. Ron had a passion for the Ford Mustang car and owned several different ones in his early years.  Ron loved spending time with family and particularly enjoyed all the family get-togethers.  He was a senior studying Environmental Science at Salisbury University and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore when he was diagnosed with progressive MS.

Ron was a member of the Damascus United Methodist Church, where he played the hand bells in the youth choir, the Tom's Creek United Methodist Church and, since moving to Delaware, a member of the Long Neck Methodist Church.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, May 18, 2024, at the Long Neck Methodist Church, 32051 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE 19966 where friends and family may call after 12 noon.  A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Damascus United Methodist Church Cemetery, 9800 Woodfield Rd., Damascus, MD. 20872

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ron's name may be made to the Long Neck Methodist Church at the above address.
