Robert Andrew Toomey, Jr. 66, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025 in Wilmington, DE.

He was born July 19, 1958 in Salisbury, MD a son of the late Robert Andrew Toomey, Sr. and Rosalie (White) Toomey.

Andy brought warmth and laughter to those around him throughout his life.

In Andy's world, he was affectionately known as Pop Pop, a role he embraced whole heartly. He dedicated over 25 years to a career in carpentry, where his skilled hands and strong work ethic left a lasting mark.

Whether building with precision or sharing a joke on the job site, he was known for lighting up every room he entered. His love for working outdoors extended beyond his profession. He found joy and peace in yard work and took pride in maintaining his home's surroundings.

A devoted Pop Pop, Andy cherished time spent fishing with his grandchildren. These moments by the water were among his most treasured.

He also had a deep passion for motorcycles and was involved with several motorcycle clubs over the years. The open road called to him offering freedom and camaraderie that he embraced fully.Andy's faith was important to him. His spiritual community provided him the strength and connection needed throughout his life.

He is lovingly remembered by his children; Andy and Trina Toomey III, Joshua and Carrie Toomey, Bernadette Williams, Benjamin and Renee Toomey, Carol Toomey and Delena Arellano. His beautiful grandchildren, Alicia, Michael, Jasmine, Jadyn, Tackoma, Jude, Lilly, Evie, Miranda and Dylan; his great grandchildren, Ryver and Hazel. He is also survived by his sister, Betty and Grizzy Hurley, who he loved deary. Andy held a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, who he dearly loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Rosalie Toomey; his two brothers, James and Howard Toomey; his sister, Rosalie "Net" Toomey and his nephew, Thomas Toomey.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 4 to 6 P.M. at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher Street, Frankford, DE.

Andy's warmth, humor and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
