Robert James Lewis, Jr., age 95, of South Bethany Beach, DE passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024 with his wife of 70 years by his side in the comfort of his own home.

Bob was born in Philadelphia, PA on December 14, 1929 son of the late Robert James Lewis and the late Helen (Zimmer) Lewis.  He graduated from Frankford High School in Philadelphia, PA and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Bob retired as a line foreman with Bell Telephone Company after 40 years of service.  He served as a Past President of the Lord Baltimore Lions Club, was a member of Mason Dixon VFW Post #7234 in Ocean View, DE, the South Jersey Chapter of the Railroad Association and the Seamen's Center in Wilmington, DE.

In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, clamming and also carving duck decoys.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John "Jack" Lewis.  He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Jean D. (Lippincott) Lewis; a son, Robert S. Lewis and his wife, Nancy of Dover, DE; grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
