Robert Thomas Heinz, age 76, of Ocean View, DE passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023 at his home.

Bob was born in Fullerton, CA on November 30, 1946 son of the late Robert John Heinz and the late Katherine Clara (Bevins) Heinz.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during Vietnam.  Bob graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a Bachelor's Degree.

Mr. Heinz had a long successful career with AT&T retiring as a chief financial officer with the company.  Bob had a love of travel and he was fortunate enough to travel the world even living for several years in Taiwan.  He will be remembered as a loving and generous father and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Irene Helen Heinz in 2020 and a sister Catherine Macrae.  He is survived by his son Robert Trent Heinz and his girlfriend of Michelle Shupe of Sparrows Point, MD and two granddaughters, Julie Rewers and her husband, Jesse and Laurie Heinz all of Sparrows Point, MD.  Bob is also survived by four siblings, Jeanette Heinz, Richard Heinz, John Heinz and Evelyn Monnig.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Monday, September 11, 2023 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970, where a vigil service will begin at 6 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 35318 Church Rd., Frankford, DE 19945.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, DE.
