Robert "Bob" C. Furbush, age 82, of Dagsboro, DE passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026.

Bob was born in Berlin, MD on July 6, 1943, son of the late Elmer Perry Furbush and the late Ethel Marie (Brumbley) Furbush. He attended John M. Clayton High School in Frankford, DE, where he excelled in basketball and football.

Bob had a lifelong passion for construction and owned and operated his own contracting business, Bob Furbush & Sons, building countless stick-built homes throughout the community. He faithfully served as a lifetime member of the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company and dedicated six years as Fire Chief, always putting service above self.

He also had a deep love for restoring antique Fords and a special affinity for Mustangs, but most beloved was his '57 Ford Fairlane 500 Skyliner. Bob enjoyed attending car shows and cruise-ins, proudly displaying his restored cars. After retirement, he and his wife, Nancy, shared a passion for antiquing and restoring furniture for resale.

Bob will be remembered for his strong work ethic, dedication to his community, love of family, and the pride he took in everything he built—whether a home, a restored classic car, or a life filled with purpose and service.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nancy G. (Shockley) Furbush; three children, Tammy Lambert and her husband, Paul, of Douglassville, PA; Robert C. Furbush, II and his wife, Sandy, of Selbyville, DE; and Shane Furbush of Dagsboro, DE. He is also survived by six cherished grandchildren: Bobby Furbush; Seth Furbush and his wife, Sarah; Matthew Lambert and his wife, Emily; Lindsey Furbush; Anna Lambert; and Greysen Furbush; one great-grandson, Owen Furbush; and a brother, John Furbush.

A visitation will be held from 10–11 AM on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services - Frankford Chapel, 43 Thatcher St., where a funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Carey's Cemetery.
