Robert "Bob or Bobby" Coleman, age 76 of Laurel, Delaware went home to be with the Lord on June 15,  2024 at his home.

Born on August 4, 1947 in Hegins, PA to Robert L. Coleman and Phyllis I (Schwartz) Coleman, he grew up in Hegins and graduated from Tri-Valley High School. Bob graduated with an engineering degree from Penn State University and married his High School sweetheart, Renee in 1968. He worked for Boeing living in Claymont, DE, General Electric and MD&A in upstate NY where he and Renee raised their 2 sons and made many lifelong friends. He retired and moved to Delaware in 2004.

Family and friends were always important to Bob. Whether it was coaching Little League, taking family vacations, having cookouts, helping with projects, NASCAR races, or hosting visitors to the beach, he was always there with a smile and his "dad jokes" and puns.

His retirement and move were perfect timing to be a huge part of his grandchildren, Kendall and Noah's lives.  They and the many people he met through their numerous activities called him "Pepa". He and Renee (Mema) seldom missed an opportunity to attend (and boast a little) about their grandchildren's activities and accomplishments. From baseball games to parades, dance recitals, robotics competitions and a myriad of music events - he rarely missed one.

Bob also loved traveling. Family vacations were always a favorite. He and Renee took many trips including Hawaii and Australia and sometimes included close friends in the adventure.  He was also able to give his and Renee's parents the experience of a trip to Hawaii.

He also enjoyed maintaining their home and the surrounding property. It took him back to his farming "roots". He helped create a home where family and friends were always welcome and there was plenty to do whether it was fishing, swimming, picking produce or just sitting and relaxing.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Renee (Warfield) Coleman, his sons Brian and Kevin (wife Cynthia "Cookie"), grandchildren Kendall and Noah, his sisters Judy Coleman and Mary (husband Lee) Bowman, and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 27, 2024 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at Mariners Bethel Global Methodist Church located at 81 Central Ave, Ocean View, DE. Visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00, service 2:00 – 3:00 followed by gathering at the church hall.
