Rebecca "Becky" Frenzel, 80, of Ocean View, Delaware, formerly of Silver Spring, MD lost her hard-fought battle with cancer on Saturday, June 1, 2024. She was surrounded by her loving family at the time of her death.

Becky was born on April 14,1944 in Leonardtown Maryland. She is the oldest daughter of the late John S. and Helen E. (Dean) Pilkerton. She married the late Allen Jay Frenzel on January 4,1964 and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage.

Becky had a successful career, working as the assistant branch manager at the Department of Commerce and later the CEO of Providence Hospital Credit Union. She was a proud member of the College Park Moose Lodge #453. She served as Deputy Grand Regent from 1998-1999 serving Maryland, DC and Delaware. She was the president of the Ocean City/Fenwick Shuffleboard League for 2 years. She enjoyed these associations with her friends. She loved the fact that she was the oldest of seven and reminded her siblings that she would always be in charge. Even with all of those accolades and responsibilities, she always found time to help and serve those around her. If there was a need, she would do her best to fill it.

Becky is survived by a daughter, Patricia (Jeffrey) Vance of Maryland, her brothers and sisters Wanda (Curt) Fern of Maryland, John Pilkerton of Florida, Joseph Pilkerton of South Carolina, and Catherine (Jeffrey) Marcoux of Massachusetts; 3 grandchildren, Narissa, Jessica and Amber Vance; 1 great-granddaughter, Zaharia; she was a loving aunt to 9 nephews and 11 nieces, 23 great-nephews and 11 great-nieces. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Helen Patricia Pilkerton and Thelma Theresa Silva, and a nephew Jeremy Thomas Pilkerton.

A viewing will be held from 10-11 AM on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970, where a funeral service will begin at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.
