Raymond A. Karaman, age 63, of Millsboro, Delaware, formerly of Ossining, New York, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at TidalHealth Nanticoke Hospital in Seaford, DE, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Yonkers, NY, on January 25, 1962, Ray was the beloved son of Raymond and Collette (Nowak) Karaman. He grew up with a deep appreciation for creativity, music, and the simple joys of life—passions that would shape him into the vibrant, generous, and unforgettable man he became. After discovering a natural eye for beauty and detail, Ray built a successful career as a professional photographer, operating in the West Chester, NY area. His work captured not just images, but the emotions, stories, and personalities behind them. Clients, colleagues, and friends admired his talent and felt instantly comfortable in his presence.

Ray was a devoted sports fan and could often be found cheering passionately for the New York Yankees and the Green Bay Packers.  His fun-loving, big-hearted nature made him incredibly easy to be around; he truly never met a stranger. Ray had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcome and valued, whether he was meeting them for the first time or sharing memories with lifelong friends.

He found peace and inspiration at the beach, where he loved to take long walks, photograph the shoreline, or simply sit and enjoy the rhythm of the waves. Ray also cherished the freedom of riding his motorcycle, often heading out on relaxing rides that allowed him to clear his mind and connect with the world around him.

A talented musician, Ray was particularly gifted on the drums. Music ran through him with an energy that brought joy to every stage he touched. He played in several bands throughout New York, forming meaningful bonds and unforgettable memories along the way. After moving to Delaware, Ray continued to share his musical talents, quickly becoming part of the local music community.

One of Ray's greatest gifts was his generosity. He opened his home—and his heart—to family and friends without hesitation. His favorite tradition was hosting annual gatherings in Vermont at the lake house, where countless treasured memories were made over the years. Laughter, music, storytelling, and togetherness filled those vacations, creating a legacy of love that his family will carry forward.

Ray's greatest joy was the relationships he built throughout his life. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend, Michele S. (Price) Tyler, whose unwavering love and support brightened his life in every season. He also leaves behind his loving mother, Collette Karaman, and his sister, Jennifer Karaman.

Ray will be remembered for his warmth, his creativity, his generous spirit, and the way he made every person feel like part of his extended family. His presence will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will continue to live on in all who knew and loved him.

A Prayer service will be held 11AM on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Rd., Millsboro, DE, where friends and family may visit after 10 AM.
