Raymond Claude Chapman, aged 79, passed away peacefully after a valiant battle with cancer on November 19, 2024, in Milford, DE. Born on September 10, 1945 in Bronx, NY, Ray was known for his warm personality and playful sense of humor, tempered by his logical thinking and dependability. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft armament systems specialist. Stationed at Lowry AFB in Denver, his love affair with the Rocky Mountain region began. Ray later returned to Boulder, Colorado with his wife Maria and stepson Dan where they lived for nearly two decades.

Throughout his life, Ray was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather and cat father. He found joy in his hobbies, especially his love for cars, model airplanes, exploring new places on road trips, photography, and exceptional woodworking. Once he retired, Ray moved back East with Maria to Lewes, Delaware. There, Ray became particularly fond of Captaining his boat "Peaceful" alongside his First Mate.

Ray is survived by his loving wife, Maria Chapman; daughter, Lauren Schmitt; granddaughters, Mackenzie and Madelyn Schmitt; step-daughter, Danielle Forte; and step-son, Daniel Porpoa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Elizabeth Chapman.
