Raymond George Aumiller, age 80, of Bethany Beach, DE formerly of Maryland, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE.

Ray was born in Baltimore, MD on March 9, 1944, son of the late John and Anna (Bender) Aumiller.  He attended Cathedral School in Baltimore, MD and graduated from Calvert Hall College High School in Towson, MD.  He completed his bachelor's and master's degrees from Loyola University in Baltimore, MD.  Ray retired as a financial director for C&P Telephone/Bell Atlantic/AT&T.  Following his career in telecommunications, he was a fundraising director for National Alliance of Business in Washington, D.C.

He and his beloved wife, Chris, permanently moved to Bethany Beach in 2004 - a place they considered paradise.  Ray immersed himself in the community where he served as the co-chair of the 2005-2007 Capital Campaign for the South Coastal Library's renovation and addition in Bethany Beach.  He also had served as the president of the board of Bethany Pines.  He took great pride in the Fourth of July Parade in Bethany where not only did he help organize the event but was known as the "T-Shirt King."  Ray was an avid golfer and member of Cripple Creek Country Club and served as its membership chair for many years.  He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Ocean City, MD.

Ray could fix almost anything and was given the nickname of "Mr. Fix-It" by his friends and family.  Ray and Chris loved the beach and spent countless hours enjoying God's wonderful creation, where he also earned the nicknames of "Tan Man" and "Mayor of Maplewood Street Beach," the beach where he always sat with friends.  He was faithful to his church, St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bethany, and he enjoyed spending his free time reading, going to the gym, but above all else spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 ½ years, Mary Christine (Williams) Aumiller, two children, Maribeth Aumiller Tulenko of Ellicott City, MD and David Aumiller and his wife, Erin Coakley Aumiller of Crownsville, MD, and three grandchildren, Brendan Aumiller of Arlington, VA, Katherine Tulenko of Charlotte, NC and Ensign Maggie Aumiller currently serving in the United States Navy in San Diego, CA.  Ray is also survived by his brother-in-law, Robert Williams Esq. and his wife, Connie Allender Williams of Delta, PA and their two sons, Matthew Williams, Esq. and his wife Yamini of San Ramon, CA, and Nicholas Williams of New York City, NY, as well as numerous Epple Family cousins.  And finally, Ray's beloved granddogs, Cody and Trapper.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE 19930, where friends and family may gather after 10 AM.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Ray's name to Beebe Medical Foundation in support of the South Coastal Cancer Center, 902 Savannah Rd., Lewes, DE 19958.
