Paula Nanette Ryan Vickers, 72, passed away on August 14, 2026. She was born on June 22, 1954, in Kansas City, Missouri, and later moved to Sacramento, California, where she spent her childhood.

During her marriage to William “Bill” Vickers, Jr., Paula shared in the experiences of his 22-year career with the United States Air Force, embracing the unique lifestyle and travels that came with military life. After Bill’s retirement in April 1990, they made their home in Ocean View, Delaware.

Paula was a woman who loved to work with her hands. She created beautiful pieces of jewelry and crafted intricate wood-burn designs on walking sticks. Her greatest joy, however, was fishing. Whether casting from a dock or standing on a bridge, she loved the challenge, the patience, and the peaceful reward that came with every catch.

Paula is survived by her two sons, William “Will” Vickers, IV and Ryan Vickers; her sisters, Betty Sue of Oregon and Debra Jean of Sacramento, California; her nephew, Bryan; her niece, Deena of Sacramento, California; and her former husband, William “Bill” Vickers, Jr.

She is now reunited with her beloved fur baby, Ziggy, who passed last year.
