It is in great sadness that Patricia Elizabeth Golis passed from our world on December 29th 2024 surrounded by her loving family and lifelong husband Donald William Golis.

Formerly of Baltimore Maryland she met her soulmate Don at the age of 8 years old. Living on the same block of Chapel Street they were first neighbors, best friends, and then lovers. Married at the age of 18 they sustained many of life's ups and downs but remained together for 71 years.

She is survived by her husband Donald Golis, her four children Brenda Gilman, Cindy Goodman, Bryan Golis, Kimie Golis, her brother Joe Jurgelewicz, her three grandchildren James, Danny, and Steven, and her great granddaughter Aria.

Patricia lived a loving life of service to her family and was deeply dedicated to he parish Saint Elizabeth's Church in Baltimore, Maryland. Being a wonderful cook and caterer, she organized and coordinated many weddings, anniversaries, jubilees, and holiday parties. She also donated time as a substitute teacher and chaperone at the school and volunteered for many school events.

When she moved to Ocean View Delaware, she found joy living at her new home, working retail, hotel labor, and being a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW post #7234 where her husband Don, 91, is currently the oldest member of the Honor Guard.

Patricia was always very fond of the Blessed Mother and having a very kind and caring heart she always put the needs of others above her own. When her parents, her husband's parents, and her best friend fell ill she welcomed each of them into her home and gave Hospice Care to all without complaint. Her generosity and warmth extended to many worthy charities especially those relating to animals. When a cat rescue organization closed down, she fostered many of the abandoned for the rest of their lives.

Throughout her life Patricia enjoyed many activities. She loved bowling, fishing, crabbing, dancing, playing cards, playing pool, gardening, arts and crafts, Yahtzee, Bingo, trivia, cooking, entertaining, and going to the casino, as well as sharing her warm generosity with others.

A visitation and prayer service for her will be held at Melson's Funeral Services at 38040 Muddy Neck Road Ocean View DE 19970 on Tuesday, January 8 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at the VA Chapel at 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966 on Thursday January 9 at 10:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life Gathering at the VFW Post #7234 29265 Marshy Hope Way Ocean View, DE 19970 at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers you may donate to any of her favorite charities such as the ASPCA, St. Labre Indian School, Tunnels to Towers Foundation, the Shriners Hospital for Children, or to the Disabled American Veterans.
