Nancy L. Colella, 76, of Ocean View, DE, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on July 15, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, David C. Colella, who passed away on December 12, 2023 as well as her canine companion, Gracie.

Nancy is survived by her five siblings: Edward M. Newcomb of Ocean City, MD; Clyde Carter of Baltimore, MD; Jerome Carter of Forest Hill, MD; Joan Page of Sparks, MD; and Doris Carter of Glen Burnie, MD.

She leaves behind three children: David A. Powers of Chester, MD; Dawn M. Cook of Kiln, MS; and Joseph N. Rainaldi of Midlothian, VA.

She is also survived by her daughter-in-law's, Karen Powers and Miranda Rainaldi a son-in-law, Todd Cook. Nancy cherished her nine grandchildren: Emily Powers, David Powers, Bethanie Cuevas, Melanie McDonald, Todd Cook Jr., Alex Cook, Gabriella Rainaldi, Aiden Rainaldi, and Caleb Rainaldi, along with three step-grandchildren: Jordan Smith, Brendan Smith, and Owen Smith. Additionally, she was blessed with nine great-grandchildren.

Nancy lived life to the fullest, enjoying every moment spent with family and friends. Her faith and commitment to helping others were central to her life. Her greatest contribution was giving back, helping those in need, and being a light for others. She aways wanted people to feel welcome in her home. As an active member of the Ocean View Church of Christ, she cherished worship, especially when surrounded by family. An avid pickleball player and organizer, she was honored to have a court named in her memory. Nancy also loved gardening and previously led a group called "Girls in the Garden." Nan loved her community and served with her husband, David, in the Ocean View Police Department as Auxiliary Police.  Nancy was a hero to many and always there when called upon. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and were fortunate to be part of her life.

A celebration of Nancy's life will be held at 3 PM Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the Ocean View Church of Christ, 55 West Ave., Ocean View, DE 19970, where friends and family may gather after 2 PM.
