Michael E. Potter, age 80, of Ocean View, DE formerly of Damascus, MD passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at his home while surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Washington, D.C. son of the late John Edward Potter and the late Virgie Mary (Butler) Potter.  Mike was the founder of MTM Management Associates in Damascus, MD a property management company for over 33 years.

Mike was a member of the Rotary Club, a long standing supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of Washington, D.C. and a past sports commissioner for the Damascus Sports Association.  He was an avid golfer and in his younger years, he enjoyed playing tennis and racquetball.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two brothers, John E. Potter in 1994 and Joseph M. Potter in 1984.  He is survived by his loving wife of 50 ½ years, Mary (Gilhooley) Potter; three children, Kelly P. Tuttle (Braden) of Easton, MD, Kevin M. Potter of Dagsboro, DE and Matthew E. Potter of Virginia Beach, VA; three grandchildren, Benjamin Tuttle, Katelyn Tuttle and Savannah Potter and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 35318 Church Rd., Frankford, DE 19945.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Michael's name to your local Boys & Girls Club or your choice of a Youth Sporting Organization.
