Michael Neil Hamilton, 65 years old, of Frankford, Delaware, passed away peacefully at his home on May 19th, 2026, with family and friends at his side. His outgoing personality, passion for life and generous nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mike was born on January 8th, 1961, to Margaret Williams and raised with love by Mary Bridget O’Neill and Leroy Leslie Hamilton. He attended St. Mark Catholic School and High Point High School, though he much preferred learning from experience rather than from a book. Those who knew him best know that the only thing more colorful than his life stories was his collection of tattoos.

Full of life and always in motion, Mike believed in making the most of every day. He spent the majority of his career as a master plumber, a profession that perfectly suited his hands-on nature, can-do attitude, and gift for tinkering. Being self-employed allowed Mike the time and freedom to pursue his true passions and he was always happiest behind the handlebars of his motorcycle, at the helm of his boat or on a long nature walk with his beloved dog, Sofee.

A friend to everyone he met, Mike had a remarkable ability to bring people together and make everyone feel welcome. His home and backyard were always gathering places for friends and family, at his longtime home in Laurel, MD, and in more recent years at his home along the Delaware shore. Whether lending a hand to a neighbor or offering support when someone needed it most, Mike created a strong sense of community and connection that will live on through the many people whose lives he touched.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Susan Marie Hamilton, who he first met when they were just teenagers. Together they built a life full of shared experiences and fulfilled dreams. He also leaves behind his daughter, Shaina McQueen (Jeff); granddaughters Natalie & Madeline; siblings John Hamilton, Georgina “Jeannie” Fitzgerald and Claire O’Brien; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends and neighbors who will miss him deeply.

A celebration of Mike’s life will be held in The Blue Heron Room at the Holiday Inn Express located at 1020 Kent Narrows Road, Grasonville, MD 21638, on Saturday, July 11th, 2026, from 12:00-3:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to attend, share memories, and celebrate a life so fully lived.
