Michael William “Chopper” Rashford, 69, of Ocean View, Delaware, formerly of Morrisville, New York, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, September 19, 2026, surrounded by the life and home he loved.

Born in Oneida, New York, on January 14, 1957, Chopper was the beloved son of the late Charles Thomas Rashford and the late Helen (Stechyshyn) Rashford.

Chopper was a hardworking, self-made man who took pride in what he did. A talented carpenter by trade, he was also the owner of his own lawn care business. He was the kind of person who never hesitated to lend a hand. If someone needed help, Chopper was there. He had a generous heart, a genuine kindness, and a way of making people feel like they could always count on him.

Chopper was a lifelong member of the Fort Noble Mountain Lodge in the Adirondacks. He was also a member of the American Legion, the Moose, the VFW, and the Eagles, and valued the friendships and fellowship he found through these organizations.

A true outdoorsman, Chopper found some of his greatest happiness in nature. He loved the mountains, being outdoors, and hunting. Those who knew him will remember not only his love for the outdoors, but also the simple moments, stories, laughter, and companionship that made him who he was.

Above all, Chopper was a devoted husband, brother, uncle, and friend. He leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, Robin (Neff) Rashford, who shared so many years, memories, and adventures by his side. He is also survived by his four brothers, two sisters, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved feline companion, Gladys.

Chopper will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, willingness to help others, love of the outdoors, and the memories he created with those closest to him will remain in their hearts.
