Mason Phillip Haro, 17, of Selbyville, DE passed away suddenly on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

Born to Heather Renee Lecates and Phillip Aaron Haro in Lewes, DE on March 14, 2007. He was a junior at Indian River High School where he played lacrosse.

Known for always having a smile on his face, his friends and classmates will remember him as the life of the party. When he was younger, he was heavily involved in martial arts. He loved watching the UFC and later aspired to become an MMA fighter. He was a bright, talented, and loving kid who enjoyed fishing, having bonfires, and hanging out with his friends. He also loved completing elaborate Lego sets and gaming online with friends.

Mason loved having long meaningful conversations with his mother, Heather with whom he had an unbreakable bond. He took great pleasure in running the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Run with his father Phil He enjoyed going with his step-dad Brian to sporting events. Mason loved his sisters, teaching them how to draw and play games.

Mason worked at High Stakes Bar & Grill in West Fenwick Island, with his mother and step-father, where the staff and customers loved him.

Mason will be remembered by his mother and stepfather, Heather and Brian DeLuca, father Phillip Haro; sisters, Chelsea Shipp, Madelyn DeLuca and Penelope DeLuca; maternal grandparents, Denise Stevenson of Selbyville, Ted Stevenson of Texas and Steve Lecates of Easton, MD; paternal grandparents Kim Cysewski of CA and Mark Frese of Harrisburg, PA and step grandparents, Susan and Butch DeLuca of Havertown, PA; uncles: Andrew Stevenson (Tracy) of Selbyville, DE, Zach Stevenson (Amanda) of Selbyville, DE, Steven Frese of Pennsylvania, Ed Frese of Pennsylvania, Jeremy Haro of California, aunts: Melissa Kelly (Tim) of Havertown, PA, Stephanie Lecates of Easton, MD, Laura Foster of Easton, MD, Monica Haro of California. Mason is also survived by several cousins and countless friends.

A visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, DE, 19970 followed by a funeral service to begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, DE.
