Mary A. Pucci, age 68, of Frankford, DE passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.

Mary was born in Lewes, DE on March 8, 1956 daughter of the late Merrill Gray and Florence (Clark) Gray.  She was a graduate of Indian River High School Class of 1974.

Mary worked in the insurance industry for many years with Atlantic, Smith, Cropper and Deely in Willards, MD before her retirement.  She also worked for several years as the activity director at Treasure Beach RV and Campground in Selbyville, DE.

Mary loved the beach, having her ladies' luncheons with her friends, walking the local parks and watching the bands at the bandstand in Bethany.  She was a faithful parishioner at St. Ann Catholic Church, enjoyed volunteering her time at the church and also was a volunteer and supporter of Operation SEAs the Day in Bethany Beach, DE.  Above all else, Mary loved her family especially spending time with her grandchildren.  She faithfully attended all of her grandchildren's sporting events and even volunteered with Lower Sussex Little League, Indian River Baseball Boosters and Indian River Football Boosters as her grandchildren participated in those sporting events.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nicholas T. Pucci in 2018 and a special aunt, Daisy Repsch.  She is survived by her daughter, Melissa "Missy" Showalter of Dagsboro, DE; a son, Jason Pucci and his wife, Kate of Frankford, DE; five grandchildren, Cory Showalter, Jordan Showalter, Nicholas Pucci, Christopher Pucci and Kaden Pucci and a great granddaughter, Dakota Showalter; two sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Young and Donna Joseph and a special nephew, Michael Rainwater and his wife, Christie and their two children, Alicia and Ty.

A prayer service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, September 23, 2024 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970, where friends and family may call after 1 PM.  Interment will follow at St. George's Cemetery in Clarksville, DE.
