Martin Edward Blackburn of Millville, Delaware passed away after a brief illness on Friday September 15th 2023. Born to Barbara and James Blackburn on April 16, 1951, Martin was the oldest of ten children. He adored his siblings and took his role as leader very seriously, always lending a hand or offering words of advice. Martin was drafted into the US Army and served in the Delaware National Guard before returning to this true calling as an incredibly gifted carpenter.

Martin is survived by his wife, Erika Blackburn, daughters Angela Blackburn (Barb) and Rebecca Bowen (Nate), son Jeffrey Blackburn (Holly), six grandsons and a granddaughter, brothers Steve Blackburn, Danny Blackburn, and sisters, Lois Robinson, Diane Stout, Shirley Blackburn, and Jenny Blackburn, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Loved beyond words, Martin will be missed by all who knew him, but his legacy will live on.

Viewing will be held Thursday, September 21st from 5-7 pm. Visitation will be Friday, September 22nd from 12-1pm followed by a brief service from 1-2pm at Melson's Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd. Ocean View, DE 19970.
