Mark A. Trotter, age 75, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of Whitby, Ontario, Canada, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE.

Mark was born in Toronto, Canada, on November 8, 1950, to the late Herbert Trotter and the late June (Newberry) Trotter.

Mark had a true passion for music and was a talented musician who could often be found with a guitar in his hands or sitting at a piano. Music was more than a hobby for Mark—it was a meaningful part of his life. He performed with several local bands over the years, including the last band he was in, the Supertonics, sharing his talent and his love of music with others in the area.

He also found great happiness in the simple pleasures of everyday life. Mark loved spending time out on his boat, enjoying the water and the peace it brought him. He especially enjoyed taking golf cart rides every day with his faithful canine companion, Sophie, who was never far from his side. These quiet moments, filled with things he loved and the company of those closest to him, were among the joys that made life special to Mark.

In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Trotter, in 2005, and his sister, Hope Trotter.

He is survived by his longtime partner of 20 years, Dolores “Dee” Troxel; his daughter, Shannon J. Trotter of Milford, DE; two stepchildren, Carrie Attig of Georgetown, DE, and Rickie Cook, Jr. of Lewes, DE; three grandchildren, Joshua Attig of St. Petersburg, FL, Carly Attig of York, PA, and Leah Cook of California; his great-grandchild, Jordan Attig; and his sister, Gail Monument of Sutton, Ontario, Canada.

Mark will be remembered for his love of music, his easygoing spirit, and his appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He leaves behind many cherished memories and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
