Marjorie Louise Holcomb 78, of Dagsboro, DE, passed away June 8, 2025 in her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born March 4, 1947 in Wilmington, DE a daughter of the late William G. and Marjorie E. Bailey.

Marjorie was a 1965 graduate of John Dickinson High School and attended Eastern Connecticut State University in Willimantic, CT. She was a 1973 graduate of the Nursing School of Wilmington.  On July 8 1967, she married the love of her life, Harlan Holcomb.

She was a successful Registered Nurse who thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of being a nurse. Marge had a successful career as a nurse, working her way up through upper levels of management which also allowed Harlan and herself to travel the United States.

Marjorie loved her family and friends and caring for others. She loved all animals especially cats. She enjoyed traveling, reading and crafts such as ceramics, knitting, cooking, counted cross stitch and crewel embroidery. She also enjoyed entertaining and cooking for family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Ted W. Bennett and a sister, Ruth L. Bennett and stepmom, Mildred Timmons Bailey.

For 57 years she was married to the love of her life, Harlen Holcomb. Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter, Rachel E. Bennett; grandchildren, Bryson W. Driver and Brooke Trout; cousins, Joseph Bailey and Lee Greenwood and several nieces and nephews. Two stepbrothers, John Timmons (Regina) and Ralph Timmons, Jr. (Judy) along with their families and many friends.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of VITAS Hospice for the wonderful care they provided, Alyssa, April, Diana, Heather and Chaplain Leslie. Also, her friends that provided support and loving care, Sharon Dawes, Heidi Cannon and Michelle Elyer.

A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 2 P.M. at the Church of God, Dagsboro, DE. Interment will be private
