Margaret "Sue" Smith (nee Frederick) 82, of Frankford and Wilmington, Delaware, passed away late in the afternoon on Friday, October 27, 2023, at the Sunrise Senior Living Center.

Sue was the daughter of the late George and Alice Frederick.

She is a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School, Wilmington, Delaware.  Sue worked as a telephone operator and later at First Card Bank.

Sue married her high school sweetheart, Howard D. Smith and gave birth to two rambunctious boys, Harry and Bart whom she loved deeply.

She was very crafty, loved knitting, crocheting and cooking.  But her time was best filled with watching her beloved Phillies.

In addition to her parents and husband, Sue was preceded in death by her son, Bart F. Smith and her brother, George Frederick.

She will be greatly missed by her son Harry L. Smith and his wife, Joann; 3 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Mariner's Bethel United Methodist Church, 81 Central Ave., Ocean View, DE 19970, where friends and family may call after 10 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made in her honor to VFW Mason Dixon Post 7234 29265 Marshy Hope Way Ocean View, DE 19970
