Lynn Hale Bryson, loving husband, brother, father, uncle, Pop-Pop, great grandfather and friend; lost his battle to liver cancer and its’ complications on Friday, October 2, 2026. He was 82.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Bryson (nee Tkaczuk); his four children, Robert Bryson (wife Aya), Lisa Bryson, Karen Phipps (husband John) and Natalie Battista (husband Samuel); his eight grandchildren Tommy, Chase, Caleb, Josh, Emma, John, Olivia and Alexis; his 11 great-grandchildren; and his mother-in-law, Cecilia Tkaczuk.
Lynn had a deep love for his furry housemates. He is predeceased by Emmie, the red-bandana wearing black lab, and Lucky Lucy, the feral Maine Coon rescue cat.
As he did in life, Lynn called the shots against his disease, choosing hospice care at home with his immediate family for his remaining days. He insisted on doing the things he loved the most. He shared a bottle of Pinot Noir (or two) and enjoyed a Padron cigar (or two). He sat in his favorite chair on the screened porch next to the love of his life overlooking the 17th hole with 70’s soft rock on the playlist. Even the unseasonable cold and nor’easter rain couldn’t dampen his spirits in those moments.
Born in San Diego, California, to Everett and Dora, Lynn was the oldest of four children; survived by his sister Dee Tully (husband John), predeceased by his brother, Phillip Bryson and sister, Claudia LaDrasha. Work eventually brought Lynn east to Maryland, where he met Liz (aka Lizzy) and their 55 year+ love story began.
Lynn founded and owned a medical supply company, Pledge Medical, in partnership with two of his longest and dearest friends. Years later he settled into a successful 25+ year career with Robert’s Oxygen, ultimately as President of the company. He turned countless business relationships into friendships through his years in the medical industry.
In retirement, Lynn and Liz moved to Delaware and discovered the community of Baywood Greens. Together they embraced the mantra, “life is good in Baywood.” He enjoyed playing and watching golf, helping frustrated golfers find a shanked golf ball in his yard. He looked forward to Thursday afternoons to enjoy a cocktail, good conversation and lots of laughs with his Roundtable buddies. He finally won the sports pool in his last week of life. He enjoyed trying out new restaurants with his friends, always searching for the best margarita in town. But nothing could beat a sunny day with a warm breeze on his screened porch or toes in the sands of Bayside.
Join the family to celebrate Lynn at an open house on Saturday, November 14, 2026 from 2:00-5:00 PM at the Baywood Greens community center pool house. Please consider donating to Delaware Hospice (delawarehospice.org) in remembrance of Lynn and all those that bravely choose to call their own shots.
