Louise M. Hudson, 89, passed away peacefully on June 21st, 2024 at home with her daughter and son by her side, after a long battle with Parkinsons.

She is predeceased by her husband, Gerald R. Hudson, her parents, Norman I. Mitchell and Minnie Phillips Mitchell, her Son Bruce A. Hudson and a step-granddaughter Wendy Warren Floyd.   She is also predeceased by her brother Abby Mitchell and his wife Jackie Mitchell, her sister Irene M. Jones West and brother in law Harry L. Jones, sister Glenda Cline, brother Granville I. Mitchell and sister in law Helen Mitchell, brother Vinol Mitchell and brother Paul Mitchell.   She is also predeceased by two nephews, Harry Jones Jr. and Guy Mitchell.

She is survived by her daughter Geraldine H. Warren (Milt), son Norman F. Hudson, daughter-in-law, Barbara Roth Hudson and close family friend, Charles Gallagher.  In addition, she is survived by grandchildren, Nicole C. Tharby (Frank), Heather Wallace, David Hudson and Nathan Cobb.  She is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandson.

Also surviving are her sister, Betty M. Parker (M. James) her brother, Vernon Mitchell (Janice), sister-in-law Barbara Littleton Mitchell, sister-in-law, Hilda Dorey and many nieces and nephews.

Louise retired from Indian River School District with 20+ years service.  Prior to school she worked retail at the Silco Store in Selbyville.  In addition, she started raising poultry in the late sixties for Perdue and was a top producer.

She loved reading, crossword puzzles, growing vegetables in her garden, and going crabbing at Sandy Landing.  She was a member of Blackwater Fellowship Church and enjoyed socializing and the Church Revivals.   She volunteered at the Showell Volunteer Fire Company serving at their famous Chicken and Oyster Dinners.  She was a great cook and was known for her Dumpling rolling.   She enjoyed travelling to Sunset Park in West Grove, PA to see many famous Country Music Stars including her favorites, Buck Owens and Loretta Lynn.   Patsy Cline was also her favorite country singer.

A visitation will be held at 12 noon on Friday, June 28th at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, DE 19945, where a funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will follow at Carey's Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Delaware Hospice, Milford, DE or the Roxana Volunteer Fire Department.
