Louise (Weezie) Garvey

Louise "Weezie" Garvey, 74, passed away peacefully at her summer home on August 16th, in Frankford, Delaware. She was born on February 13, 1952, in Alexandria Virginia, to the late Russell and Evelyn Matthews.

Louise is survived by her loving husband, of 56 years, Richard "Dickie" Garvey; her two sons, Jeffrey (Rose) Garvey, Russell Garvey; her grandchildren Jessica (Jason) Hanks, Jeffery II (Bre) Gravey, Jaxon and Declan Garvey; great grandchildren Carson Garvey, Hailie, Brantley, Oakleigh Hanks.

She is also survived by her sister, Betty (Robert) Brant; her brother, Rusty (Barbara) Matthews; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louise attended George Washington High School in Alexandria Virginia. She also took courses at Northern Virginia Community College.

During her career, Louise worked at Burgundy Farm Country Day School and Mark Winkler Corporation.

She will be remembered with love by her family and friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

In accordance with Louise's wishes, a private service was held on August 18, 2026. A celebration of the life will be held in Virginia at a later date.
