Louis Frank Fels, Jr., age 85, of Ocean View, DE formerly of Parkville, MD went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 11, 2023 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE.

Lou was born in Atlantic City, NJ on February 20, 1938 son of the late Louis Frank Fels, Sr. and the late Mary Catherine (Curtin) Fels.  He proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard and was honorably discharged in 1960.

He began his working career as a draftsman for the Harry T. Campbell Company which became Genstar and finally the Redland Company in Hunt Valley, MD working his way to an engineer.  His last five years he served as a project manager for Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Lou was actively involved in the church his whole life. Lou oversaw the building of Joppa Road Baptist Church, in Parkville, MD. Where he spent his time there as head deacon. He was an active member of the Rock, Church in Towson MD until he moved to DE and above all else, he loved spending time with his loving wife, children, and grandchildren."

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Scott Fels.  Lou is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Diane D. (Simms) Fels; four children, Tamara Little (Jon), John Fels (April), Randy Fels and Amanda Fels-Miller (Dennis); 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Lou's life will be held at 3 PM on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970, where friends and family may visit after 2 PM.
