Lois J. Santangelo, 84, of Millsboro, DE, formerly of Norristown, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her own home.

Lois was born in Norristown, PA, on August 17, 1942, the daughter of the late John P. Scanlon and the late Helen (Cole) Scanlon.

Lois devoted her life to creating a loving and nurturing home for her husband, children, and grandchildren. A homemaker, she kept the household running smoothly while also working part-time as the bookkeeper for her husband’s automotive repair shop. She was also known as a mom to every kid in the neighborhood, always ready to welcome and care for others.

She was deeply involved in her children’s extracurricular activities, serving as a Brownie Troop Leader and Den Mother and participating actively in their school activities as a member of the Parents’ Club. Lois was also a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Nuss-O’Hara-Todd VFW Post 1804 in Norristown, PA, where she served as President for 15 years.

After retiring to Millsboro, DE, Lois became very active at Long Neck Methodist Church, where she could often be found almost daily. Her faith and her church community were an important part of her life.

In addition to her parents, Lois was preceded in death by her beloved son, P. Brett Santangelo; her brother, Dennis Scanlon; and her sister, Diane Scanlon.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Angelo Paul Santangelo; her daughter, Renee Santangelo Thomas of Phoenixville, PA; three grandchildren, Bryanna Thomas, Stephanie Santangelo, and Tyler Williams; four great-grandchildren, Kaidyn Williams, Liam Thomas, Makenyah Thomas, and Giovanni Williams; and her sister whom she raised, Linda Scanlon of Blue Bell, PA.

Lois will be remembered for her unwavering devotion to her family, her generous heart, her commitment to her community, and the many lives she touched throughout the years.
