Leah M. Carlson, 91

Leah M. Carlson, 91, of Ocean View, DE, formerly of Lewisburg, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Aug. 28, surrounded by her loving family at home.

Born on Aug. 9, 1934 in Sunbury, PA she was the daughter of the late Emerson & Mary Clark. As a young girl, she was a very talented athlete in sports at school. She married Donald F. Carlson in 1956 and they spent most of their time living in Pennsylvania. They were members of the 1st Baptist Church of Sunbury, PA. For most of her life, she was a homemaker but helped at times over the years with vacation bible school and at the local nursing home.

Each year the family always chose to spend summer vacations at the beach and were always very fond of Delaware's beaches. Then in 2006, they moved to live full time in Ocean View. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and enjoyed visits with a wide range of extended relatives from neighboring states. She was known for her genuine kindness to others and dedication to her family, she will be missed. She loved the simple pleasures like flowers in spring and summer, living near the water, riding her bike, even into her 80's, and exploring the charm and beauty of the area's beach towns.

Leah was preceded in death by her husband Donald F. Carlson, her parents Emerson and Mary Clark, her sisters Phyllis Wian, Ethel Moore, Lucille Chervanik, and her brother Terry Clark. She is survived by a sister Audrey Wolfe of Selinsgrove, PA. She is also survived by her daughter Barbara Carlson and her son Timothy Carlson, both of Ocean View.

Services and burial will be private in Pennsylvania.
