Kenneth Lauren Hall, age 85, of Rehoboth Beach, DE formerly of Elsmere, DE passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 in the comfort of his own home.

Kenny was born in Wilmington, DE on July 1, 1939 son of the late Rodrick and Elsie (Brovelli) Hall.  He was a graduate of Brown Vocational High School Class of 1957 in Wilmington, DE where he was an All-State basketball player.

Kenny worked for General Motors as an inspector before becoming the co-owner of Holiday Chicken a staple of the community in Long Neck, which he owned and operated for several successful years.  He was also a member of the Durney American Legion Post in Wilmington, DE, the 11th Ward Republican Club and in his spare time, he enjoyed watching and betting on horse races.

Kenny will be remembered for his generous support of many charities but above all else he loved his grandkids.  He was their biggest supporter and they knew "Pop Pop" would always be there for them. He and his beloved wife, Peggy traveled from the baseball fields to the basketball courts to the cross-country trails throughout the state of Delaware and the Eastern Shore of Maryland to enthusiastically encourage them.  He was so proud of their many successes.  He was also a faithful attendant at St. Jude the Apostle's Adoration Chapel where he attended weekly until his health prevented him from doing so.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Stroud and his brother, Larry Hall.  He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Peggy J. (Thorpe) Hall; two children, Kenny Hall and his wife, Beth of Lewes, DE and Sharyn Crandell and her husband, Colin of Clarksville, DE; four grandchildren, Matthew Hall and his wife, Stephanie of Dallas, PA, Kenny Hall of Milton, DE, Brynn Crandell and Brody Crandell both of Clarksville; four great grandchildren, Wyatt, Alexis, Gianna and Jayden; a sister, Carol Browning of Oxford, PA and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Delaware Hospice for the compassionate care they provide and a special thanks to Kenny's nurse, Joe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE 19958, where friends and family may gather after 10 AM.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Kenny's name to St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church at the above address.
