Kenneth V. Blue, age 92, of Ocean View, DE formerly of Laurel, MD went home to be with his Lord on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, MD, while surrounded by his loving family.

Ken was born in Oakland, CA on June 27, 1931 son of the late Vinson Blue and the late Rachel Ruth (Parrott) Blue.  Ken proudly served his country by enlisting in the United States Army in 1948 and being honorably discharged in 1952, during the Korean War.  After his discharge from the Army, he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1954 and retired with the Rank of Staff Sargent in May of 1974, where he served during the Vietnam War.

Once retiring from the military, Ken began his second career with JCPenney as a maintenance supervisor with the store in Laurel, MD with over 10 years of service.  Ken loved attending the Ocean View Church of Christ where he attended bible study, volunteering his time as a social member with the Millville Volunteer Fire Company and was a member of Mason Dixon VFW Post #7234 in Ocean View, DE.  He also enjoyed bowling with his beloved wife and spending time with the love of his life and devoted wife of 45 years, Helen (Melia) Blue.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Randall Blue.  He is survived by his wife and best friend, Helen; a son, Kenny Blue and his wife, Janice of Arizona; two grandchildren, Jeremiah Blue and Tracy Blue and two great grandchildren, Kylie Blue and Chloe Nemegh.  Ken is also survived by two stepdaughters, Susan Armstrong of Hanover, PA and Laura Henry and her husband, Mickey of Pasadena, MD and four step grandchildren, Trisha Armstrong, Scott Armstrong and his wife Lisa, Matthew Malinich and his wife, Jenna and Travis Malinich and his fiancée, Cristina.

A celebration of Ken's life will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, February 12, 2024 at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Rd., Ocean View, DE 19970, where friends and family may call after 10:30 AM.  Interment with military honors will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.
