Kelly Anne Henderson Hensley, 57, of Bethany Beach, Delaware, formerly of Selbyville, Delaware, passed away Friday, March 22, 2024, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Delaware, after a brief but courageous fight with cancer.

Kelly was born on January 26, 1967, in Chester, Pennsylvania.  She was the daughter of William J. Donohue and Carole Sue (Caldwell) Reynolds.

Kelly spent her early years in Ridley, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Ridley High School in 1985. Upon graduating from high school, she joined the U.S. Army and served as a Military Police officer in Germany until her Honorable discharge in 1988.  Among the other ribbons she earned, Kelly was awarded Marksmanship badges for proficiency in Pistol, M-16, Rifle and Grenades.  After leaving the Army she moved to the Ocean City, Maryland, area where she worked as a plumber, tiler, server, bartender and, most recently, floral arranger.  If Kelly was interested in something she had the unique ability to acquire the skills needed and to perform at a high level.    After retiring she devoted herself to her main hobby – doting on her granddaughter, Rilynn.  It is indeed true that Kelly had no acquaintances, since as soon as she met someone, they became friends – and she had many, many of them who will miss her dearly. Her joy in life was always showing and she truly loved making people happy.

Kelly is survived by her husband, William Hensley, her father, William Donohue, her stepmother, Patt Donohue, daughter Lindsey Licata, son-in-law Charles Licata, two sisters, Jill Reese (Bryan) and Karen Donohue, and granddaughter, Rilynn.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Carole (Caldwell) Reynolds, and sister, Stacey Sce-Patton.

A Veteran's Memorial Service, followed by a Celebration of Life, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on April 13, 2024, at the Mason Dixon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7234, located at 29265 Marshy Hope Way, Ocean View, Delaware.
