Keith R. Smith, age 70, of Dagsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Thomas Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Born in Lewes, Delaware, on May 5, 1955, Keith was the son of the late Ralph Smith and Susie (Lank) Smith. A graduate of John M. Clayton High School, he carried with him a strong sense of duty and pride, later serving honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era.

Keith was a hardworking and independent man who built his own path as the owner and operator of Keith Smith Painting, a business he ran with dedication for many years. He was a familiar and friendly presence in the community, including as a member of the East Sussex Moose Lodge in Roxana, and in earlier years attended Millville United Methodist Church.

He found joy in life's simple and meaningful pleasures—exploring history, visiting America's National Parks, getting lost in a good book, and challenging himself with crossword puzzles. Above all, he treasured the time spent traveling with his beloved wife, Stephanie, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Keith will be remembered for his steady nature, his quiet strength, and the love he shared with those closest to him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joshua and Louis Smith, and his sisters, June Powell and Norma Hobbs.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 33 years, Stephanie (Hopkins) Smith; his brother, Robert Smith and his wife, Janet; stepson Michael Reddish and his wife Kimberly and two grandchildren, Dylan and Rowan Reddish; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews who will carry his memory forward.

A private service will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Delaware.
