Wohkittel, Kathryn O.

On June 2, 2023 Kathryn O. Wohkittel (nee Orendorff) died peacefully in her home in Millsboro, Delaware after a brief battle with cancer.

Kathy was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 8, 1958 to Austin A. and Rosemary (Eyth) Orendorff.  The family moved to Cincinnati when she was young and she graduated from McAuley High School, in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1976.  Upon moving back to Towson, Maryland she attended the University of Maryland in College Park from 1976 – 1980.  In her senior year she served as President of Delta Delta Delta Sorority.  It was here that she met her husband, Paul, and was married on October 17, 1981.  She lived in the Baltimore-Washington area and Westminster, Maryland for most of her life until moving to Delaware in 2018.  Kathy held various positions in the financial services industry and retired from Lenders' Credit Services, in Baltimore, Maryland after a 10-plus year career with them.

Kathy loved the beach and enjoyed many years in their condominium in Ocean City, Maryland.  She was an intense planner who excelled at designing and decorating her home and those of close friends and family.  Gardening was her passion and she spent much time in the outdoors tending to the curb appeal of her homes.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband of over 41 years, Paul J. Wohkittel, III, her parents Austin (Bud) and Rosemary Orendorff, her mother-in-law Elaine Wohkittel, sister Debbie James and her husband Edwin (Skip), sister Elizabeth (Betsy) Orendorff, in-laws Richard Wohkittel, Thomas and Karen Wohkittel, and Susan and Mike Zittle, and nephews and nieces Patrick, Erin, Sophia, Brittany, Matthew, Tyler, Lindsay, Richard, Ryan, Karl, Brett, and Trevor.

A Funeral Mass for Kathy will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Towson, Maryland on Tuesday June 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.  A private celebration of life for family and close friends will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: South Coastal Cancer Center, In Memory of Kathryn Wohkittel c/o Beebe Medical Foundation, 902 Savannah Rd, Lewes, DE  19958.
